We run a wide variety of free psycho-educational courses around a range of psychological and emotional difficulties.  We aim to help people feel as comfortable and as welcome as possible, so no-one will be asked to do anything that they do not wish to.  There are no “ice-breaker” exercises and no-one will be asked to speak individually.

Please be advised we recommend only booking onto one or two courses at a time in order to make the most of the content.

Worry Management Workshop (1 session)

Worry Management Workshop

1 session

This free workshop aims to help people understand worry and introduces Cognitive Behavioural Theory as a method of effectively managing worry.

Topics covered include:

  • What is worry?
  • Introduction to two types of worry
  • Worry Time
  • Problem solving for practical worries

This is an online taught course, run in a group format, so although there will be some group discussion it is up to you how much or how little you choose to take part.

This workshop will run for 1 session held on a Tuesday Evening, starting at 6pm and finishing at 8pm.

This free online workshop is aimed at people experiencing problems with anxiety and stress in the workplace. The session will introduce you to tools and techniques that will support you to keep well at work during these challenging times.

Topics covered include:

  • Recognising and managing your anxiety and stress in the workplace
  • Communication styles and techniques to tackle a range of typical problems at work
  • Managing return to the workplace anxiety during Covid-19
  • Introduction to wellness action plans

This free online course is aimed at people experiencing problems with anxiety, focusing on general anxiety and excessive worry.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding how to manage worry
  • How our thoughts and beliefs can contribute to worry and how to reduce their impact
  • How to manage and limit the impact of worry on our day to day lives
  • How to manage and tolerate uncertainty
  • How to turn unproductive worry into helpful problem-solving
  • How to develop your own plan for overcoming anxiety in a step-by-step manner

This free online course introduces Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT) as a method of effectively reducing difficult emotions such as anxiety, depression and anger.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding anxiety and general stress
  • Techniques for managing difficult thoughts
  • Managing the expectations we set ourselves and others
  • Techniques for communicating assertively
  • Helpful ways to put techniques into practice

This is an online taught course, run in a group format, so although there will be some group discussion it is up to you how much or how little you choose to take part.

This course will run for 3 sessions held on a Thursday Afternoon, starting at 2 pm and finishing at 4 pm.

  • Ways to manage unhelpful behaviour

  • Developing helpful behaviours to deal with the causes of anger.

Managing Panic Attacks and Phobias (3 Sessions)

This free course is aimed at people experiencing problems with anxiety and / or panic. It introduces Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT) as a method of coping with panic and phobias.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding how and why anxiety problems develop and are maintained
  • The meaning and causes of the physical symptoms of anxiety and how to cope with them using a range of relaxation and mindfulness techniques
  • How our thoughts and beliefs can contribute to anxiety problems and how to reduce their impact
  • How to develop your own plan for overcoming anxiety in a step-by-step manner

This course is most appropriate for:

  • Those who experience panic, or panic attacks; phobias and situational anxieties e.g. social anxiety. If you experience more generalised anxiety, or worry a lot our ‘Managing Worry’ course may be more appropriate.

This is an online taught course, run in a group format, so although there will be some group discussion it is up to you how much or how little you choose to take part.

This course will run for 3 sessions held on a Friday Morning, starting at 10:00 am and finishing at 12:00 pm.
