This free course introduces Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) as a method of effectively reducing difficult emotions such as anxiety, depression and anger.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding anxiety and general stress
  • Techniques for managing difficult thoughts
  • Managing the expectations we set ourselves and others
  • Techniques for communicating assertively
  • Helpful ways to put techniques into practice

This is a taught course, run in a group format, so although there will be some group discussion it is up to you how much or how little you choose to take part.

This course will run for three weekly sessions held on a Tuesday afternoon between 14:00 pm and 16:00 pm.

How to find the room: From the car park walk down the steps (or the paved path next to the steps), which is near the bike rack. At the bottom of the steps turn right. Go past the ‘staff and volunteers only’ sign. The training room is located in the wooden building on the left hand side, and it is the 2nd door on the left.
