Description:

This free course is aimed at people experiencing problems with anxiety and / or panic.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding how and why anxiety problems develop and are maintained
  • The meaning and causes of the physical symptoms of anxiety and how to cope with them using a range of relaxation and mindfulness techniques
  • How our thoughts and beliefs can contribute to anxiety problems and how to reduce their impact
  • How to develop your own plan for overcoming anxiety in a step-by-step manner

This is a taught course, run in a group format, so although there will be some group discussion it is up to you how much or how little you choose to take part.

This course is most appropriate for:

  • Those who experience panic, or panic attacks; phobias and situational anxieties e.g. social anxiety. If you experience more generalised anxiety, or worry a lot our ‘Managing Worry’ course may be more appropriate.

This course will run for three weekly sessions held on a Thursday Morning starting at 10:00 and finishing at 12:00.

Important - GP surgery

You must be registered with a BANES GP to attend this course. If you do not have a GP in Banes please contact your GP surgery to find out what services are available in your area.

There is very limited parking at this venue. We recommend parking in one of the car parks located a short walk away or use public transport.
