Managing and Regulating Emotions

Many people experience strong and intense emotional responses to traumatic or difficult events. Sometimes people experience a “roller-coaster” of emotions in a very short period of time. This can be difficult to understand or manage and can impact upon many aspects of life including relationships.

Within our service we do offer a skills based group intervention for people who experience emotional intensity which is called “STEPPS”. This stands for Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving and helps by teaching techniques designed to help manage our emotional response to situations.

To access this specialist intervention you would need to be referred by a practitioner within the service after having completed an individual assessment. To book an assessment, please contact us on our main number 01225 675150.
